Join us for a 5-course pairing of Bold Italian Reds—heritage in every pour, magic in every bite.

Our tasting will spotlight four of Italy’s most celebrated reds.

  1. Tortoniano Barolo
  2. Le Difese Toscana
  3. La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva
  4. Saia Sicilia
  5. Nivole Moscato d’Asti

Each will be paired with a chef-curated course:

Appetizer

  • Dish: Tomato Basil & Roasted Pepper Bisque in a Bread Bowl
  • Wine Pairing: La Forra Chianti Riserva (2020)
  • Why it works: The soup’s tomato acidity plays beautifully with Chianti’s bright cherry character, creating a lively, palate-refreshing start.
  • Wine tasting note: 2020 shows a rich ruby red color. Subtle wood tones balanced with ripe red fruits, balsamic notes, and bitter orange. Pleasantly dry and vinous with smooth, ripe tannins; mouthfeel hints of balm, incense, and herbal tea; long vanilla-and-chocolate finish.

Appetizer:

  • Dish: Cheese Bread with Mushrooms, Drizzled with Truffle Oil
  • Wine Pairing: Le Difese Toscana (2022)
  • Why it works: Earthy mushrooms and truffle meet a medium-bodied Sangiovese–Cabernet blend for a savory, softly structured match.
  • Wine tasting note: 2022 offers beautiful fruit intensity with well-integrated, balanced tannins. Marked aromaticity with fresh berry notes and a very intense, complex nose. Good freshness and a gentle, non-invasive structure that wraps the palate—pleasant and easy to drink.

Fish Course:

  • Dish: Grilled Salmon with Lemon-Dill Sauce
  • Wine Pairing: Saia Sicilia
  • Why it works: Bright citrus notes in the wine lift the lemon-dill sauce, keeping the pairing refreshing and vibrant.
  • Wine tasting note: Deep ruby red; notes of mature fruit and spice. Deep and well-structured.

Main Course:

  • Dish: Marinated Filet Medallions
  • Wine Pairing: Tortoniano Barolo
  • Why it works: The filet’s rich, savory depth meets Barolo’s complexity and firm structure—an elegant, long-finishing combination.
  • Wine tasting note: Garnet color with luminous hues. An inviting, complex nose of rose petals, juniper berries, and fine spices. Elegant with ample structure and silky tannins, finishing long.

Dessert:

  • Dish: Almond Gelato
  • Wine Pairing: Nivole Moscato (Moscato d’Asti)
  • Why it works: The wine’s sweetness complements the gelato’s nutty richness for a light, fragrant finale.
  • Wine tasting note: Brilliant straw yellow; fragrant floral aromatics with notes of peach and apricot. Creamy with fine bubbles and a crisp finish.

Together, these wines showcase the depth and diversity of Italy’s winemaking traditions, from the volcanic soils of Sicily to the rolling hills of Tuscany and Piedmont.
